It was a relatively short ride today, 24 miles, but the winds were even stronger today, and I was certainly not in the greatest of spirits, so I’m afraid I can’t say it was an easy ride into town.
See if you can hear my voice through the blustering winds:
My bike maps failed me when I was nearly in town, and I ended up at a dead end at the Interstate, so I turned around and rode down the awfully busy Mattis Avenue to Champaign Cycle.
What a relief! Larry gave my saddle a quick fitting – THANK YOU! – and I stocked up on chamois butter – YES! – and got a Champaign-Urbana bike map and recommended route into town.
After a few hours in the impressive, new Champaign Public Library, planning next week’s route and contact, I had a lovely dinner with Joyce and Faye and the lovely Jackson. Thank you!
